Inquiry learning is a new kind of learning-style which is proposed in the new round course reforming, which emphasizes on change in teaching concept and study method in order to cultivate the ability to get and deal with information, and the ability to explore all the possibilities for the solution of the problem. It is a new kind of attempt to bring capability in innovation and practice. But at now, the study on the Inquiry learning of mathematics with itself characteristic has still been weak and inquiry learning is not put in use enough in real teaching, so it doesn't bring forth its reasonable effect. Through the research of the topic, the thesis wants to establish the theory of mathematics Inquiry learning and seek an effective way to put it into practice in the process of the mathematics teaching.Firstly, the thesis provided an definition of Inquiry learning and its theoretical foundation. What is called Inquiry learning is to create the scene and approach similar with scientific study during the course of teaching, and let students take in and experience how the knowledge comes into being, furthermore cultivate the ability to explore all the possibilities for the solution of the problems. In the course of Inquiry learning, the students achieve the formation of knowledge by meaning of searching the solution of the problem independently. At the same time, the search discerns the difference between Inquiry learning and discovery learning, and that between receiving learning and research-like learning, so as to clarify the cognition about Inquiry learning.Secondly, the thesis discusses the theoretical foundation of Inquiry. From psychology point of view, the viewpoint that Inquiry learning incarnates the soul of some significant modern learning theory, including cognitive psychology and constructivism, is demonstrated in the thesis. From education point of view, the theory of lifelong education and subjective education provide it with theoretical foundation and guidance. On top of the above, the thesis discusses the development of Inquiry learning along history venation of Inquiry learning. From naturalism to empiricism and structuralism educational sense, from single teaching method to significant educational sense and practice, Inquiry learning improves and perfects.Thirdly, the thesis discusses the Inquiry mathematic learning mechanism in details. In fact, in order to study the practice of Inquiry learning in the true sense, we must understand real features of students in the course of Inquiry learning. Any teaching reform is based on understanding the learning process of students quite clear. Then the Inquiry learning mechanism is studied by discussing how to help student establish good mathematics cognitive structure.Later, based on the discussion about the Inquiry mathematic learning mechanism, the thesis explores how to make Inquiry mathematic learning into practice, which is the key of the problem. The process for the implementation of Inquiry mathematic learning is provided in the thesis, which includes creating question situation; setting and improving cognitive structure; driving the students to active retrospect and induction so as to improve the level of students'meta-cognition.
