School Students Math Anxiety And Its Endogenous Impact Study Of The Factors

The present paper reports the findings of a survey on students' math anxiety and the relation between math anxiety and endogenous factors. The survey is conducted among 340 middle school students by means of questionnaire .Based on the analysis, the author has come to the following conclusions:1. The scale for the conception of math compiled from the research has relatively reliability and validity.2. The general level of math anxiety of middle school students in this research is not very high. The anxiety in ferial math learning result and the anxiety in math exam result are likely to be the main sources of students' math anxiety. The high-school seniors suffer higher math anxiety than the high-school juniors, and females higher than males.3. The students' math anxiety is significantly negatively correlated with learning achievement. The excellent students' math anxiety and the average students' math anxiety are almost at the same level, and are relative low. The poor students suffer higher math anxiety.4. Math self-efficacy,math study motivation,the style of attribution and the conception of math can influence math anxiety in different ways and vary degrees. Math self-efficacy can reduce math anxiety; self-improvement motivation,negative attribution style and positive attribution style can increase math anxiety; intrinsic motivation,attachment motivation and the conception of math have both negative and positive influence on math anxiety.To reduce or clear up math anxiety , we should take it all around and adapt a comprehensive measure which considers all influential factors ,rather than merely depending on one of them.
