It is a very urgent task to improve the college graduates' quality inmechanical engineering. How to evaluate its quality scientifically, rationallyand comprehensively is a base of promoting the graduates' quality. Presently,there is a long way to go for the research work. This thesis aims at conductinga theoretical investigation into the work and it deals with the value and necessityof undertaking the work. The thesis analyzes the current situations and thepracticability of its evaluation system, explains the extents of mechanicalengineering college graduates' quality, and makes numerical calculations by usingAnalytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). It presents an evaluation model on the basisof the above calculations and comes into the conclusion that the quality evaluationsystem proves successful after a close investigation over evaluating the qualityof the graduates in the Mechanical Engineering Department, Shaoxing University.This research work provides not only the reference for employers to employgraduates, but also the foundation for higher institutes to complete the trainingpattern of utility talents. Besides, it is helpful for the graduates themselvesto find the suitable positions. At last, the thesis proposes some measures forincreasing the quality of the mechanical qualified personnel according to thecharacteristics of demands and present status in mechanical talents, which takesthe engineering problem as a main line and keeps close cooperation between collegeand enterprise.
