Since 2005, the comprehensive courses reforms have been carried out in the middle schools of Jiangsu Province, based on which the Chinese textbook for senior middle school students published by Jiangsu Education Press (hereafter refers to as Senior Chinese Jiangsu edition) was adopted as the textbook for senior Chinese course. In the field of ancient poetry, the textbook, in accordance to the Ordinary Senior Chinese Course Standard, underwent a series of reforms and attempts on the basis of absorbing the compiling experience of the previous textbooks.For one part, starting from the Ordinary Senior Chinese Course Standard this thesis analyzes the compiling characteristics of the Senior Chinese Jiangsu edition, including compiling ideas, organization of poems of special topics, contents of the selections as well as the exercise system etc. For another, the writer conducted a survey on the teaching of ancient poems of Senior Chinese Jiangsu edition, collected the opinions of students and teachers towards the selection, and also presents some ideas and suggestions to. teaching. Therefore, based on the results of the survey as well as the actual teaching practices, this thesis discusses the three stages of teaching of ancient poems, which include teaching preparation, teaching operation and teaching evaluation, and puts forward some specific and operable teaching strategies, with an attempt to contribute to the improvement of the ancient poetry teaching.
