The new curriculum reform provides teachers with greater space to exert their initiative and creativity and achieved obvious achievements and is now advancing and developing along the correct path. However, teachers are deeply influenced by traditional education. Besides, they do not have enough awareness on Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standards. They will mistake some recognition on physical education practice and even do not offer physical education classes. This paper will research both theoretically and practically to analyze the mistakes on physical education teaching. It has especial importance on making front teachers understand clearly and further advancing the education for all-round development and new curriculum reform. In this paper, I adopt methods as literature data, questionnaire surveys, data statistic to fully analyze basic situation on physical education teaching in urban area of Zhenjiang. After the investigation, the survey showed that a considerable number of teachers are lack of understanding on the Standard. There are six wrong recognitions on the new curriculum. They are: 1, not clear understanding on the nature of the physical education curriculum. 2, in the one-sided "students as the main subject" understanding, teachers are considered as the "counselors" of students at the expense of the dominant role of the teachers. 3, neglecting the sports skill learning. 4, the broad and ambiguous making and interpretation on learning targets (or teaching goals). 5, one-sided emphasis on respect for students' interest. 6, excessive emphasis on the integrity of the site equipment, sports facilities while neglect the development and utilization of resources. This paper aims to study and explore the understanding on new sports teaching, guided by contemporary teaching theory, curriculum theory, study theory ant other theories, with six misunderstandings as the study content, through theoretical and case analysis to try to clarify the misunderstandings, enrich support theory on sport and health curriculum reform. By studying on theoretical research and case demonstration on the six "misunderstandings", I get the following conclusions:1. We must implement the "Health First" guiding ideology in the nature and the teaching of the sports courses, adopting physical exercise as the main means, knowledge, skills and methods on sports and health as the main content of courses. We Stress that a variety of content, functions and the integration of multiple values, sports and sports health knowledge closely related to physical education.2. The relationship between the teachers' dominant position and students' leading role means we should both highlight independent learning of students and dominant role of teachers. Only when we effectively harmonize the two roles can the goal of the new curriculum reform be achieved.3. Sports skill are not only the major learning content of sports curriculum, but also the major carrier to realize specific objectives of physical education curriculum, besides, it is an important target to master sports skills. Therefore, we must strengthen sports skills teaching to improve the physical fitness of students.4. The formulation and presentation of five fields of study in the learning objectives (or teaching objectives) is an interrelated whole, can not be separated from each other, and the learning goal of each field can be achieved by physical practice, so the five fields of study can not be isolated during the teaching.5. On the aspect of students' interest toward physical education, we should try to select highly valuable training materials students show more interest, as to those with high training value and poor entertainment, we can inspire students to learn and practice through reform of organization teaching rather than simply abandon them.6. More observation and thinking are necessary in teaching. We must develop new resources in sports facilities with greater strength to serve for the new courses.This study will give reference to improve understanding of the new curriculum, to firmly grasp the direction of the new curriculum reform, to effectively avoid the mistakes in concept, recognition and practice in the day-to-day physical education teaching, to actively make necessary amendments on misunderstanding on time, to better implement physical education and health curriculum, and to promote all-round development of students. It has some reference value toward physical education teaching.
