Domestic violence is the violence against women, and many of them cannot improve their situation or leave the violent environment. This study analyzes the relationships among internal cognition, external social support system and the negative response of battered women through questionnaires and interviews. Results indicate that internal cognitive bias and lack of external social support system are associated with the negative response of battered women and make them unable to leave the violent environment. The findings suggest that social work intervention should be implemented within the combined model of self-cognition and social support system, and imply the traditional methods of social casework, social group work and social community work to reduce domestic violence against women and to improve their life quality. |
