To strengthen the party members and cadres as well as the farmers'education, the Organization Department of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee began to implement The Modern Distance Education Pilot Project of Party Members and Cadres in Rural Areas in Sichuan Province in 2005. The project adheres to the general idea of integrating agriculture-related resources, training farmers and covering the establishment of the digital learning network in rural areas based on the central work. It aims to provide intellectual and human resources support for the development of modern agriculture and the building of new socialist rural areas.Through using the theories of farmers'education, learning the successful experience from some foreign countries in the areas of education and training of farmers, this paper focuses on the analysis of the training mode and the operation mechanism. It takes Longquanyi District, chengdu, a pilot county of The Modern Distance Education Pilot Project of Party Members and Cadres in Rural Areas as an example , and relies on the survey data collected from the same area and development of modern distance education. Using research and analysis methods, the paper makes a basic evaluation on the training project and analyses the training results differences among the different regions. On this basis, it respectively gives an overall view in perspectives of the macro-areas research and comparative analysis from the effects of training on the following four aspects of the farmers'agricultural net income, the application of the technical capacity, the management level, the ideological as well as cultural qualities. It also gives case studies and analyses the factors and the importance of result that affect the modern distance education from the aspects of the farmers themselves and the training programs. Finally, the papers gives some suggestions about how to promote the comprehensive, coordinated and healthy development of the follow-up training of the modern distance education training in rural areas across the province.
