Teachers and students are the two main roles in the process of higher education. Usually the former is regarded as instructors, and the latter learners, only by interacting between them can the objectives of education be achieved. The interaction between teachers and students reflects the essential and the most important aspect in the process of higher education. The development of relations between college teachers and students in China and the western history have proved that we would get extreme conclusions if we ignored the nature of relations between college teachers and students .Namely, we might lay much emphasis on one side and know nothing about the other, we call it teacher-centrism or student-centrism. As a matter of fact, we need regard both of them as a whole. The relationship between teachers and students formed in the education process, meanwhile, it also reflects the economic, political, cultural and moral state of our society, inevitably, it shows contradictions and conflicts in these areas through a certain form. To solve the problems in the process of higher education, we have a long way to go.By decrypting the four parts of college teacher-student relationship, including ethical relationship, teaching-learning relationship, psychological relationship, and personal relationship, I get the specific content of teacher-student relationship, trying to find the ideal mode of college teacher-student relationship and the effective strategies to construct the mode by reviewing the development of domestic and foreign college teacher-student relationship. Through empirical investigation and analyzing the recent cases of college teacher-student relationship, I get to know that there are increasing utilitarian, emotional indifference, acute contradictions and concept conflict between college teachers and students. In fact, these new problems related with social environment, university management system, the individual situation, and differences in values between teachers and students. The focus of the paper is what the ideal mode of college teacher-student relationship is and how to construct it. In my opinion, we need personal equality, respect, understanding, communication, interactive collaboration, knowledge sharing, and learn from the talented between college teachers and students. To solve these issues, we should renew the education and teaching concepts, reform university education management system, create a better campus culture, broaden channels of communication, perfect teachers'self-cultivation, and help students get correct view of learning and teacher-student relationship.
