In PCB industry, Appearance Inspection Machine is a kind of instrumentation equipment representing independent extension, sufficient application trend and direction. The research's ultimate goal is to completely replace manual testing, solve PCB appearance defect and continue to fulfill renewal requirement of the industry.This paper is exactly to innovatively exploring research Appearance Inspectation Machine for PCB appearance defect with in-depth analysis of various optical components, algorithm, software and hardware compatibility. The main contents include:1) Analyze and catalogue various PCB appearance defects;2) Analyze impact caused by different light sources according to various PCB appearance defect and seek the most appropriate light; Analyze how to combine mechanical and electrical control to make imaging quality under algorithm requirements;3) Study PCB color space segmentation, union, intersection and factors affecting PCB color space to determine method of standard construction and algorithms;4) Study software system framework of appearance inspection machine;The key innovations of this dissertation include:1) Apply LAB color threshold analysis to appearance defect inspectation by replace traditional RGB mode, closer to human eye vision;2) Construct image segmentation method with morphological watershed base, replace traditional gray threshold segmentation method to upgrade intelligence.As far as I know, there is no report to such technology implementation at domestic and foreign technical literature and known technical information.
