With the continuous progress of robot's technology, mobile robot represents the development of information technology, automation technology, system integration technology to some extent. In this paper, The realization of the multi-sensor robot's obstacle avoidance and path tracking system based on the Boe-Bot robot made by Parallax company and the BASIC Stamp 2 micro controller is discussed in this paper. By employing both the whisker and infrared sensors as the sensors of the mobile robot, the signals came from the sensors are sent to the micro controller to control the traveling state of the robot using PBASIC language. Then approaxiate responses are made to automatically control the obstacle avoidance and tracking. At last, some experiments are made to validate the feasibility and efficiency of the designed system.Autonomous system is required increasingly in the fields of industry, agriculture, scientific research and national defense along with the development to information technology. More and more research is focused on robot and robotization Robot Company and research institute are developing various service robots to work instead of human and developing autonomous land vehicle for the sake of safe drive or military affairs. The obstacle avoidance and path tracking is one important research aspect of the mobile robot.
