In recent years, AIG improves its management system step by step, and at the same time, it also tries to keep electronization and informatization continuously during the office process. In order to improve working efficiency and admin management, the full implementation of office automation will be the general trend for shanghai office of AIG. This essay aims to make preliminary discussion based on the development of document flow automation system and the application on heterogeneous database in office automation.Building Office automation (OA) system needs the support from software platform. AIG uses LOTUS NOTES as its software platform, and takes advantage of its network communication function and advanced network-application platform to build a security, reliable, open and high efficient information network and OA system, and to reach archive management automation and affairs office automation.The core of application in OA is to process the files in electronic operation. Database is very important in files flow during the working stream, archive store and querying. NOTES database that belongs to non-relational nature is adaptable to store and archive bootptab in working stream. However, for querying, it may cost long time if NOTES database has recorded large amounts of data. Moreover, the time will be increased with the data surging. Therefore, the only way to improve the working efficiency is to promptly store settled bootptab into ARACLE database. The transfer of settled bootptab decreases the amount of data in NOTE database, so efficiency will be increased when querying files. Meanwhile, ORACLE database which belongs to relational nature also brings the time benefits when querying settled files.At last, it is looking forward to the future development of OA and the construction of application database. Moreover, it briefly discusses the application trend of database in OA. |
