Microwave transceiver system is the crucial components of microwave communications systems, as electronic countermeasures, radar, remote control, remote sensing, etc. As the core components of the transceiver, the performance of the up-converter and down-converter plays a pivotal role of the whole system. In this thesis, a set of up-converters and down-converters have been designed and fabricated. According to the issue's demanded, 6 ~ 18 GHz input signal converts to 1.75 ~ 2.15 GHz for down-converter and 50MHz ~ 450MHz input signal converts to 1.75 ~ 2.15 GHz of the up-converter. The IF output power of the down-converter is 10dBm, pass-band ripple is less than 1.5dB; the LO frequency of the up-converter is 1.7 GHz, the gain is greater than 5dB and controllable, RF / LO rejection is greater than 50dBc, pass-band ripple is less than 1.5dB.At first, we introduced the development of up-converter system and its application. Then we analyze the circle by software to decide which component to use. In order to achieve the miniaturization and modular products, some of the key mixer and amplifier device using selected MMIC. In the actual design for the up-converter, due to the LO signal is very close to the RF output signal frequency band, we have access one resonator to the RF output and use it as a band stop filter to control the local oscillator leakage power, in achieving a 50dBc of RF / LO rejection at the same time ensure that the pass-band ripple of 1.5dB; for down-converter, in the output port we use a filter-amplifier-filter response link which can simplify the design of single band bass filter. The measurement result demonstrates that the designed system is satisfied in all targets. At last we point out the defects of the design and provide some method to improve.
