Research And Implementation Of Travel Translation Assistant Based On Mobile Terminal

With the development of society, the improvement of the level of China’s economy, more and more people like to travel and there are a large number of people are choosing to travel abroad to feel some life abroad. But the question is that they must encounter language barriers abroad, which is bound to bring displeasure to travel. A convenient translation software is very important. Now many online translation software have been found at home and abroad, but they are mostly applied to PC,not specifically for travel.These software don’t own high translation accuracy rate for travel language so the study on travel translation software based on mobile terminals will be put on the agenda.This paper on the basis of Google’s Android development environment, using the statistical machine translation method based on phrases, studies and implements a travel translation assistant software based on mobile terminals. The android system framework, the android system components, the reading technology of android resources files, the speech recognition of android platform, multimedia volume control technology of the android platform and the network communication technology between android and server-side are researched on the mobile client. The design, implement and translation process of the phrase based statistical machine translation system are researched on the server side.First of all, this paper reaches a conclusion that the existing translation software exist deficiencies by the brief analysis of the current online translation software and the development of machine translation technology. Secondly, this paper puts forward software requirements analysis for travel translation assistant based on mobile terminal according to some existing technologies. What’s more, this paper introduces the development platform, and gives the realization method of each module of the travel translation assistant system. Then, this paper expounds the implementation and use of translation system used by the travel translation assistant system. Finally, this paper is summarized and prospected.All the functions of the travel translation assistant system based on mobile terminals designed with the methods put forward by this paper are as follows:the online translation function including the voice translation, the text translation and the scenario examples function. When the users click the recording button of the travel translation assistant, it can translate speech into the target language by the voice translation function and the target language shows in the form of text. When the users input the text, it can translate the text into the target language by the text translation function. The scenario examples function offers users a series of common scenarios, such as greetings, transportation, shopping, banking, catering and other aspects of the commonly used words and their corresponding translation.
