Design And Implementation Of Remote Elderly Monitoring System Based On Cloud Architecture

The traditional elderly care system achieves the care for the elderly by using video monitoring and wearable devices. This can easily cause psychological pressure and physical discomfort for the elderly. Besides, the expansibility of the care system is poor and not suitable for wide use. For the elderly care self-help, we need a care system which is low cost and easy to promote.This paper designs and implements the elderly living status system which is based pressure sensors. This paper mainly completes the following work.System is mainly divided into four parts: living status data acquisition, living status data collection and forwarding, cloud platform services and living status data display. They are responsible for the old man home life of perception, collection, SMS alarm and graphical display.In the first part, the seat cushion sensors convert the pressure signal of the elderly living status to electrical signals. Then the STC Series MCU read the voltage signal from the pressure cushion sensor device to get the elderly activities information. The ZigBee communication module receives date from the serial port on the microcontroller.In the second part, this paper uses SZ05 series of ZigBee products as the communication module for local data collection which is produced by the company of ShunZhou technology. ZigBee terminal transmits collected data to the ZigBee node on the PI. PI serves as a data receiving and temporary storing center. Then, it sends data to the data server via the Internet.Cloud platform services include all kinds of servers. Data server stores raw data from collection equipment. The data processing and judgment server confirms the elderly living status according to the certain rules. The database server stores website user information. Tomcat server provides the environment of building a website.Baidu cloud push server provides message delivery service for users.The last part provides account registration, account login, management of old men’ information, check of the elderly daily liferoutine and so on for their caregivers.This paper implements the remote elderly care system. It can display the elderly living status data and send alarm message to those caregivers. The system is easy to extend and popularize and its performance is higher than that of other elderly care solution.
