| As a new interface caters for rapid development of computer peripheralequipment, Universal Serial Bus (for short USB) dispels astriction ofcommunication through traditional serial port and parallel port. It is verysuitable for real time image data transmission, which requires high speed. Thistheme describes two-circuit systems, which utilize USB interface to data from adigital image sensor to PC. They are both based on EZ-USB2131Q, a USBinterface chip.The first system uses FIFO as the storage buffer, image can be displayed at arate up to 8.2 frames per second; on the second system, instead of the FIFO, asolution based on two RAMs is applied. And image can be displayed at a rate upto 8.8 frames per second.The two systems have following different feature: Though the first system issimple in structure, the rate of data transfer is limited and some data may be lost.Utilizing a more complex circuit, the second system achieves the maximal rate ofvideo display and high image quality.At last, a scheme of integration for based-RAM system is design in popularEDA tools such as Packaged Power. ModelSim. MAXplus â…¡, Leonardo. Moreover,a preliminary study of the SIE, as the core of USB, is carried out. |
