AbstractDigital image compression technology has been applied in many field, such as multimedia~ communication~ medicine and so on. In the intending science and technology field, it continuously show it's powerful life-force and developing potential. Static image compression technology is not only the basis of some kind of move image compression~ transmission, but also, the key technology of influence on its effect. Considering of this, the paper is focus on researching static image compression technology.The paper can be divided into four parts.The first part provide some arithmetic which are accord with JPEG standard and Huffman coding which has been used in the paper, at some time, a new kind of modified compression Algorithm which based on still picture compression algorithm using two vector quantization based on DCT has been propose under the same ratio of signal and noise. We have gotten satisfied result by the computer. The second part is focus on the basic of theory of wavelet analysis that is internationally recognized up to the minute tools for analyzing time-frequency arid famous Mallat algorithm. The third part uses wavelet analysis and Mathematical Morphology to detect the image edge, and contrasts the two results, we have gotten respective apply condition and good or evil. The fourth part has leaded the wavelet analysis into the field of image compression, it came out another method of image compression anthmetic-gradually decrease quantizing step, we reached the conclusion that the resume image whose error below 4 as good as the resource image by contrasting different error image.
