AbstractSubject: Computer Software and Theory Title:The Application in Distributed Parallel Computing with Java -JavaiteMaster: ZhangLi (98S6-30) Director: Professor SunShiXingNow, there are large quantities of computer resources in Internet. In the other hand, we face with a large amount of time-consuming computing tasks. If we can utilize these existing computer resources to deal with these computing tasks in distributed parallel way, we can save time and money together. Undoubtedly this work has important practical significance. To realize the assume there are some great obstacles to solve: 1) Wide distributed environment. 2)The hardware and software difference of each computing node. To utilize the natural numerous merit of Java (such as distributed^ architecture neutral, portable) can breaks through these obstacles to add strong computing power into isomer interlinked environment. This thesis follows newer developmental condition of computer science and technology, holds main research direction of my laboratory, tries to combine Java with PVM (the most mature and popular distributed parallel computing environment), and forms up a kind of experimental Java parallel virtual machine system - Javaite. Javaite summarizes central function of the standard PVM system into five fundamental classes. In the five classes PVMDaemon is the relation ligament and PVMEnvironment is the core. They construct the most basic system frame of Javaite. In this foundation I make some applied research (Matrix Multiply) and performance test. The test result shows that Javaite can gain better performance in the condition of suitable coarse computing task granularity and well communication delay resistance. The realm of applying Java to distributed parallel computing certainly has luciferous outlook.
