One of the most widely used waveguide slots for antenna array is the inclined slot cut in the narrow wall of a rectangular waveguide. This slot, commonly called an edge slot, possesses the advantages of relative ease of construction, high-power handling, and broad frequency bandwidth over the broad-wall slots. The design was very difficult for the effect of the radome and the mutual coupling In the present work, a pair of design equations has been developed, with account taken of mutual coupling and the radome. the internal power storage in the waveguide is also included The numerical results are presented Good agreement with the available data is obtained It's a useful tool for design the inclined slot cut in the narrow wall of a rectangular waveguide.With the aid of waveguide theory and ParsevaFs theorem, the relationship between the scatter and the field is obtained. An expression for the admittance of the slot is derived using an angular spectrum of plane waves and the discontinuity in mode current, taking the depth of cut in the broad wall into account.The existing of the radome will effect the characteristics of antenna, it should be taken into account Using the ray tracing principle, the effect of radome transmission, reflection and loss on antenna radiation is obtained.The slot is fed by transverse electric (TEjo) modes, which pass under the slot. The back-scattered mode amplitude and the forward-scattered mode amplitude to the slot voltage are given. The first design equation is derived using equivalent transmission line theorem. The total slot voltage was composed of five parts. Considering the causes of the slot voltage, the second design equation is developed.The slot resonant length and the angles of inclination are important parameters in the design of a slotted waveguide array. Using these equations, the design parameters are obtained. Comparison between the other's work and calculated results is presented. It is also shown to be a good agreement. The effect of the production error is also taken into account.A method to determine the resonant length and the angles of inclination of an inclined slot in the narrow wall of a rectangular waveguide is presented, in that it includes the effect of mutual coupling and radome. The results of such studies show that, those equations are particularly important for design the inclined slot cut in the narrow wall of a rectangular waveguide correctly.
