The distance education is the developing direction of education in the future. And the educational administration system is the important component of the whole platform. Its performance and function determine the level of management and the quality of teaching directly. It guarantees the normal plan and order of teaching activity. Based on campus network, this system supports the distance education omni-directionally. It has realized the two-level educational management mode and has offered issue and inquiry service of different teaching information at the same time. Every function part in the system is relatively independent, but from the angle of information sharing and workflow, all the parts have dense and integral connections.The system uses the Object-Oriented thought and the UML method to analyze, then establishes the analytic models to make the system more understandable and to make the question domain objects clearer. This part of work is propitious to the design and the development of the system.The system adopts the J2EE four-tier structure. The client level provides the succinct human-machine interactive interface. The Web server responds to the users' requests. The application server completes the computation and logical processing. And the DBMS provides the storage service. Further, the thesis discusses the method that unifies the MVC model and the component technology. It guarantees the expandability and maintainability of the system.Educational administration system involves many departments, all the links of the teaching activity are closely bound up. So, there are complex services and data types in the system. These premises are fully considered when the system is designed and realized. The thesis discusses about the function model, roles, authority, database structure and optimization ofthe system in detail, and selects IBM HTTP Server, WebSphere Application Server, DB2 as the server platform. The system adopts JSP and Servlet to express the information on Web. At the same time, other technologies, for example, connection pool, encrypt, etc are also applied in the realization. These techniques make the code reusable and shorten the development cycle. With the work in every part, the system acquires the good mechanism of logical processing and data updating, which guarantees the integrality and consistency of the information, the efficiency and quality of the developing work, the security and stabilization of the whole system.In the end, the author' s opinion about the system' s future improvement and the expectation of the whole distance education platform is presented.
