In this paper, a series of images photographed by aircraft is processed, and finally merged into a whole without redundancy.Due to radiometric and geometric distortions of images from photography, even pictures of the same object are often quite different from each other, which bring a lot of trouble and inconvenience to image identification and mosaic.Accordingly, the origin of geometric distortion is first introduced in this paper, and through analysis, a geometric correction algorithm is presented. Applying the transformation of three-dimension-projection, image series are finally converted into the same coordinate system.Radiometric correction of images is dealt with in the second part of this paper. Firstly, a radiometric correction algorithm applying local maximum entropy is introduced, and then based on the analysis of current correction algorithm, a much better one is presented, which proved to be effective in the correction of radiometric image distortion. In the later part of this paper, image matching technique based on image features is studied. A theory using image local maximum modules, got by wavelet transform, as image feature, is promoted and proved well. Finally, using image mosaic technique based on multi-resolution analysis, redundancies between images are eliminated. The whole image produced at last is a much bigger one without seam and distortion.
