Internet-based Project Management Software Development

This thesis firstly introduces the current situations and trends of internet and project management in China and around the world. Secondly, Based on the features of B/S and the functions lay-out of Site-OA(development background) and the last theory of project management in China,the thesis analyzes the procedures of project management in detail. Thirdly, a model of project management on the internet and its database structure is designed in this paper, a prototype is debeloped. Fourthly, some suggestions for improvement and optimization of the system are proposed.In order to make information of the planning implementing ,tracing and adjusting on project management on the internet, and according to this structure reflects the feature that a project is usually divided into the task units for distributing and implementing, the database design in this thesis is consisted of project group, detailed projects, project tasks, project resources(including substance and people), task distribution,time,units and indentifiers.The software system of project management on the internet includes three pages.They are project building, project managing and project member working. Outline of project tasks is clear in the software system, Tasks can be easily distributed to project members. Target management can also be implemented. The system can help managers to find out key routes and the milestone events in the key routes, then manager can control and modulate these key routes and milestone tasks in time, they can authorize some people to do some management works for them. Members of project can receive tasks,report working conditions and communicate each other conveniently.
