The dissertation is mainly to accomplish a GPS/GSM vehicles' intelligent management and dispatching system, and importantly to study the system's design, realization and the solution to intelligent management and dispatching of vehicles. Firstly, it summarizes the general situation and progress in orientation, navigation, mobile communication, electronics technology related to the system, then scheme out the whole design project of system according to the system's functions, and start to design and realize every segments of the whole system. In the process of every segments design, main masks are the design of mobile terminal, software program of the management and dispatching center, and system integration. The design of mobile terminal consists of the hardware circuits' design, facture, realization and the programming of assembly language. With the assistance of periphery circuits, mobile terminal complete the collection, disposal, storage and transmission of mobile vehicles' GPS information, the receiving and execution of dispatching and control commands from management and dispatching center. The communication mode between of mobile vehicles and management and dispatching center adopts public GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication). The dispatching and control commands, vehicle's GPS information are transmitted in the form of SMS (short message service). Programmed by Delphi, Visual Basic language, the soft ware system of the management and dispatching center fulfils the surveillance, management and dispatching of mobile vehicle and daily data management. Moreover, the system's application to the traffic center of Guangdong University of Technology is studied, adopting Linear Programming (LP). LP is an embranchment of operational research, which is a good tool in modern management. Continuously optimizing the dispatching project with genetic algorithm after factual running information of the dispatched vehicles is obtained via the GSM/GPS system, eventually the aim of the intelligent management and dispatching of the vehicles, improving the efficiency of the vehicles is achieved, reducing the cost of the transportation. Through experimentresults, we can come to the conclusion that LP in realizing the intelligent management and dispatching of the public traffic vehicles is correct, reliable and valid, achieving good anticipative effects.
