With the increasing expansion of the network resource,the further development of the automatic Test instruments,the automatic instrument test and management in a distributed environment has been the focus of numerous field. Wanted is how to get a easy using and manageable instrument test system at minimal cost and the maximal resource utilization.The paper build a WBEM_based distributed instrument test system which has the unified management and automatic test interface. WBEM(Web_Based Enterprise Management) is a set of technology to lighten program and interface coding load. Providing the standardized method to handle the managed resource ,WBEM greatly simplified the process to establish a manage application so as to simplify the work to manage a enterprise network.In addition to analysis of the common distributed instrument test system, this paper focused on the following problems: the abstract description of the different instruments with variant vendors; the unified instrument remote control interfaces; the NPnP of instrument and the timely status information update ;how to make the client operation just like on the instrument.Incorporating with WMI(Windows Management Instrument),this paper applied Observer Pattern to realize the instrument NPnP and status update. The author uses both visual instrument technology and WMI to manage the instrument in the distance with friendly interface and good expansibility.PCI-6024E of National Instruments is selected as an example.The author uses MOF language to describe the DAQ card as reputable CEVI class and developes the COM program of the CIM class.The combination of the visual instrument and WMI remotely instrument control makes it a whole distributed instrument test system.The author gives some advice and makes prospect for the system application as a conclusion.
