The technique of overlapping characters on video signal is an important part of video signal processing. And the technique of infrared wireless transmission is developing rapidly in the current years.By using technique of character-overlapping and the theory of infrared wireless transmission, a system that can enhance the Laser Range Finder system's function is developed in this dissertation. The data which is measured by the range finder can be transmitted to the receiver wirelessly, and based on the data the relevant character will be overlapped with the video signal. The measuring result can be watched by the observers intuitively.Under the control of the microprocessor, special chips(MAX3100 and u PD6453) are used in this system. The data is transmitted in a wireless way by the MAX3100 and different characters are overlapped on video picture simultaneously by the ?PD6453. The data which is sent by Laser Range Finder is processed on real-time by the system and sent to terminal display. By this method the real-time performance is realized in the system.The scheme design of the system, the circuit basis of each part and the key programs are described in this dissertation, the whole character-overlapping and wireless transmission system is fulfilled.
