With the development of computer technology, computer digital image processing is getting more and more applications in human production and life. This thesis focuses on two application of image processing: a) Moving objects detection, b) Medical examination.Moving objects detection is an important research aspect of computer vision and video processing. Now, the demand for intelligent video processing is getting greater and greater. In many intelligent video processing systems (e.g., human detecting and tracking system, road vehicle speed detecting system, et al.), the operation of extracting moving objects form video images is their bases.The result of medical examination is an important reference for medical diagnosis. In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of medical examination, the using of examination systems based on computer is necessary. The thesis focuses on medical microscopic examination and researches developing medical microscopic image processing system with image processing technologies.The thesis is composed of six chapters. Among them, Chapter 3 and chapter 4 discuss moving objects detection; Chapter 5 and chapter 6 discuss the applications of image processing in medical examination. The contents of every chapter are as following:Chapter 1 gives a short introduction to image processing and describes the main work of the thesis.Chapter 2 discusses a basic operation of image processing, i.e. region filling. A mended region filling algorithm is introduced.Chapter 3 briefly introduces some moving objects detection algorithms. Then, in order to solve a problem, i.e. extracting background image, a background image extracting algorithm based frame differences is proposed.Chapter 4 first introduces Level Set and its implement, then, moving objects detection algorithm based on Level Set is discussed.Chapter 5 discusses how to separate overlapping cell images and proposes a separating algorithm based on granulometry.Chapter 6 introduces a multi-ability medical microscopic image processing system. Urinary sediment examination software and cell DNA quality analysis software are introduced. Besides, some advices of design distributed medical examination system based network are proposed.
