IPC has been widely used in communication, navigation and controlling area since it enter China in eighties of twenty century. PC 104 is very popular in embedded application area, but all the core components depend on import. So, developing high performance PC 104 IPC system of our own IP and achieving system core components self research and development is very important to the improment of the competition and continuous research and development of PC 104 IPC.The author has taken party in the National Advanced Research Project (Grant No 41308010307). Finished the design of the PC 104 bus controller and designed the FPGA verification platform of single module and system level. The research work of this paper mainly includes:1. Studied the buildup of the embedded system of PC 104 IPC, make certain the function and performance of LongtiumSl, and established the frame of LongtengS 1.2. Complished the design and functional simulation of PCI04 bus controller of LongtiumSl. Optimized the timing of the PC 104 bus interface, enhanced the banand for 16bit datawidth equipments access; add overtime mechanism , enhanced the reliabilityof the system.3. Building the FPGA verification platform of each module and LongtengS 1 SOC, finished the FPGA verification of PC 104 bus controller and LongtengS 1 SOC.4. Based on the LongtiumSl SOC, framed the implementation scheme of embedded IPC system, and finished the system schematic design.Now we have finished module level and system level FPGA verification of the PC 104 SOC. And could run DOS OS and application programs on the FPGA verification platform. The project group have finished the backend design based on 0.18um CMOS technics and will finished the tapout in the near future. The works done in this paper accumulated experiences for the developing of deep embedded IPC system and the designing of high-density single chip IPC system.
