Complex banking electronic system is based on interface banking system. And interface banking system is developed on IBM AS/400 platform by internal staff of bank and it can provide core bank service to users. Major service includes customer information management, saving operation, loan operation, accounting and online operation for the above saving or loan processing. Banks intends merger and acquisitions due to world financial trends. As the enabler of bank, compatibility of bank electronic systems becomes a critical problem, which needs to be solved.This article uses a real case to introduce the concept and structure of interface banking system firstly. Secondly it discusses how to design and develop the technique and method to make two different interface banking system become compatible. Thirdly regarding users' requirements, it analyses different module functions between systems. Finally using iterative and incremental development method to develop a new interface banking system to contain two different interface banking system based on IBM AS/400 platform.As far as development method is concerned, it applies time-box driven & risk driven method basing on advanced iteration and incremental development theory. DB2 database and RPG language on IBM AS/400 have been used for development as well.The author made a brief introduction to the procedure that merging two different interface banking systems. Of course it is discussion about this kind of system in rough and she hopes it will provide reference to researcher of banking area in the future.
