Iscsi And Its Starter In The Windows Platform

With more and more demands on large scale storage, the storage technology has developed a lot.Traditional means of storage fails to meet this increasing demands.iSCSI, SCSI over IP,is a new network storage technology made by IBM and it has been accepted by IETF as a standard.It's one of the protocols of network storage.Firstly, we introduce the traditional means of storage, particularly SCSI.Secondly, we introduce network storage and its two means: NAS and SAN. We analyse several kinds of protocols in SAN.Thirdly, we introduce iSCSI prtocol, interpret status transfer flow of its session and connection.also we describe the name mechanism, error recovery mechanism and security mechanism of iSCSI.Fourthly, we analysis the driver structure and SCSI structure of linux.then we interpret the realization of iSCSI initiator and target in linux.Lastly, we introduce the driver structure of windows2000 and the realization of iSCSI intiator driver in windows.
