In order to aid the archaeology research, this thesis focuses on the 3D modeling technique for excavation site and the relic representation technique in Internet in the field of digital archaeology. Making use of limited archaeology production, the 3D modeling technique reconstructs the excavation site, and produces a standard VRML97-format file. The theme-based relic representation technique can display the 3D model of a relic in Internet. Both of the two techniques are used in the design of an archaeological research assistant system, and are applied in the project named "research of key techniques of relic reservation" for Jinsha archaeological site.Firstly, the application and technical status of domestic and foreign digital archaeology is thoroughly analyzed. The thesis describes the advancing trend of digital archaeology, including 3D documentation, 3D representation and 3D dissemination. It also analyzes famous reconstruction and representation technology.Then the thesis put forward a new 3D modeling technique for excavation site, which makes use of limited archaelogical research production. The modeling method constructs the mathematical model of point and curve in the 3D model, and extracts the digital features of the curve of culture layer from the profile chart, and uses the data of control point to produces the points on the curve of culture layer. Then it puts forward the outer-wall and culture surface generation technique to produce the 3D model of excavation unit. Finally, it generates the integrated model of excavation unit together with the 3D model of relic by using multi-model fusion technique.The third part of this thesis proposes the theme-based relic reprsentation technique in Internet. The mathematical model of relic partition and partition method are brought forward in the technique. It then constructs the logical model of relic representation in Internet, and analyzes the client and server part. It also supports the relic representation technique in Internet by proposing a network protocol.The fourth part implements the key techniques by designing an archaeological research assistant system. The system is designed to solve the problem existing in the archaeological research, and applies the key techniques above.Finally, the thesis applies the archaeological research assistant system to the project of the research of key techniques of relic reservation for Jinsha archaeological site, and wins a favorable effect.
