With the development of Computer technology, Industrial networking technology and the research on control theory as well as their wide application, Industrial control systems now meet broader requirements and have better performance. In this paper, a rotten stone powder production line in power plant is introduced. It's an integration of classical PLC plus with PC system which could perform data collecting, monitoring and control.The system is described from two aspects: software and hardware, including the system architecture, main functions, the software and hardware design of PLC system, the design of supervising system.The paper is made up of several chapters and a brief description is given as follows:The first chapter presents an introduction of the current status and trends in Industrial Automation including a detailed comparison among PLC, DCS and FCS systems, from which we get the basis and reasons to apply PLC system in our project.The second chapter introduces technical process, the system designing theory and the choosing of automatic products to build the whole system.Chapter three and chapter four describe the design process of the control system in detail in terms of software and hardware respectively.In Chapter V, I make a detailed explanation of the realization of the function of monitor and control in supervisory PC.The reliability and the noise resistance of system are considered in Chapter six.Finally, I give out a summary on the design of this control system. The system upgrade project described in this paper is proved to be very helpful to improve the performance of the rotten stone powder production line control in power plant and has good reference value for similar projects.
