| With the rapid development of information industry, the further restruction of traditional industry, and the continuing demands of energe saving, the market of switching power is expanded rapidly. Due to the miniaturization of computer device and other kinds of electronic product, the power system is required to be smaller, lighter and higher efficiency. In this situation, to design high efficiency DC-DC switching power supply chip is valuable in the view of both economy and research.The aim of this program is to do research and design DC-DC switching power. In this paper, the working theory, design philosophy and system characterize are presented detailedly, and an architecture of synchronous rectifying DC-DC power manegement chip is introduced based on some similar commercial chips. This chip adopts the current PWM control mode, and uses slope compensation and synchronous rectification in order to improve convert efficiency. Spectre simulations are done on each cell and the whole system in Cadence software.The chip is finally fabricated with CMOS process, the tests are also accomplished. The test result indicates that the output ripple is only 45mV , the output precision is 1.5% and the convert efficiency is 84.2% at the load of 330mA. This chip is characterized by high-current, high-efficiency and low-power loss, which can be used in digital camera , mobile phone and mp3 for power management. |
