| With the development of the Self-Oscillating Mixer(SOM) theory, the application of SOM has been studied thoroughly and shows potentials in many fields.This paper introduces the development of SOM technology in the pass few years at first.Then it shows some popular nonlinear techniques used in analyzing the nonlinear circuits.The technology of SOM can be used in the Doppler radar for velocity measurement and in frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) for distance measurement. The circuits used for these objectives have been developed.The procedure on bulding the whole system has been introduced in detail.At last, the performance of these applications for the SOMs has been concluded.Measured result shows that the Doppler radar signal we get in the self-oscillating mixer based Doppler radar is about 400Hz which matches well with the velocity of a moving object. The best conversion loss in FMCW system measures -10dB which is similar to the simulated result. |
