The advanced development of information society requires education reform to fill the need of educating innovating talent confronting the future. In the meantime, the development of information society also provides the environment and conditions to this reform. The widely use of information technologies in education will be sure to make education modernized. Education using information methods is the requirement and outcome of the education facing information society.The network education college of Beijing University of Posts and Communications following the requirement of education using information methods, designed and developed a set of "homework and exam management system" including course management, praxis management, exam management and homework management. This set of system with perfect functions is able to help the organization realize the education modernized, so that make the education procedure better and help share the education resources.The first 5 chapters of this article analyse the system surrounding the detailed realization according to the J2EE structure. From landscape orientation, this article mainly includes the analysis of design pattern, system actuality and development of new technologies. From lengthways orientation, this article includes the analysis of system presentation layer, operation layer and persistency layer. As analyzing the system implementation, this article also includes detailed analysis of both the advantages and disadvantages of the system and provides solutions according to certain J2EE design patterns.The sixth chapter introduces the innovative content of the system, which is to create doc files from HTML formatted files. This chapter also introduces other practices during development period.With all the efforts mentioned above, the V1 version of Homework and Exam management system has been developed, functions have been made better and the performance of the system has been improved. The analysis and improvement suggestions to the system will be a good guide to the development in the future.
