Virtual reality is the research hotspot of current computer field.And it has been producing extensive application in every trade. Because of its complexity and randomicity, the simulation of natural scene is the hotspot and diffucility of virtual reality research. And the water's 3D simulation is one of the diffucilities of natural scene 's simulation. This paper's research object is based on fountains,bringing forward the mathematical model of water wave and fountains,implementing the simulation of fountain using VC++ and OpenGL.The movement of water wave is mainly sinusoidal model, considering the randomicity of every parameter in this model, and importing the random parameters in order to make the shape of the water wave more genuine. The movement of the fountain is maily based on particle system,considering the influence of gravity to particle movement. The shape of the fountain will vary in terms of the change of initial parameter of particles.The implemention part of the code include five classes: pool class,particle class,fountain class and camera class. And these classes control the effect of water face,particle movement,effect of fountain,texture of pool and visual angle respectively. The result of the program is very realistic and steady. And the program's shortcoming is that the quantity of computations are great.
