With the development of information technology, information security and copyright protection for digital products have drawn more and more attention. Responding to such application demands, information hiding technology has been developed rapidly in recent years. As a primary branch of information hiding, digital watermarking has become one of the most hotspots in the filed of security.This paper reviewes the general model, categories and the relation with Encryption technology of information hiding, introduces the properties, categories and applicable fields, and makes thorough explanation and investigation on the structure of watermarking system.In this paper, two watermarking algorithms are implemented. One is an adaptive blind watermarking based on HVS as an improvement for an existing algorithm. This algorithm enhances the robustness by classifying blocks of image due to the characteristic of human visual system and the local features of image and embedding watermarks in different intensities due to the categories. This method uses chaotic sequence and pseudo-random sequence to make sure the securety. The other is a localized watermarking method based on the 2nd generation watermarkinge mbedding theory. The idea is to make use of feature-points to tag out the embedded locations and gets feature-vectors, and picks out a sequence orthogonal to the feature vectors as watermark. The results of experiments also confirm the robustness of this algorithm.
