| W-band high speed pulse detector is one of the most important microwave components, the detector's response is fast and working frequency is high, which can detect pulse without any complex mixing, filtering, amplifying process, It can be applied in many millimeter systems.In this thesis, I describe the operation theory and design method of W-band high speed pulse detector. The circuit simulation and parameter optimization have been made, and the results have been given.The main contents are as follows:1. A general introduction of the characteristic of millimeter-wave and its applications is given, and I discuss the purpose of research and the latest development of high speed pulse detector.2. The thesis introduces the design method of waveguide-to-microstrip transition, the simulation of S parameter has been made with AnSoft HFSS, and the test work has been implemented to back-to-back transition.3. The thesis discusses the basic theory of pulse, modulator and detector. The design method and process of high speed modulator and detector are given, the PCB paragraphs of them are given after it.4. The detector test system is implemented, test results of circuits are given and analyzed, then I bring out the deficiency of the circuit and any advice to improve it.The results indicate that at frequency 91-99GHz, the detector's VSWR is better than 2.32, and response speed is fast reach 3ns. At full W-band voltage sensitivity is as high as 94mV/mW at 0dBm. |
