EW(Electronic Warfare) receiver is a very important part of the electronic intelligence reconnaissance systems. Higher demand is proposed for EW receiver because of crowded and complex modern warfare environment, and the battle between the reconnaissance and the counterreconnaissance, disturbance and anti-disturbance is more and more rigorous. The traditional receiver is facing big challenges. Many states have been researching the receiver for a long long time, and focusing on Instantaneous frequency measurement receiver, Channel receiver,Instantaneous frequency measurement integrate with superheterodyne receiver and more, each of those could be applied for some certain EM environment, but they have got their own weakness respectively. Therefore, the design of EW receiver is prone to combine different kinds of receivers. Each part of it could resolve certain problems of the whole system according to its own characteristic. Presently, digital superheterodyne receiver's synthetical hierarchy which is directed by digital instantaneous frequency measurement has been widely applicating in this field, it not only inherits superheterodyne receiver's good selectivity, high sensitivity and precision, but also reserves instantaneous frequency measurement reciver's high intercept probability,and avoids disadvantages of both ways mentioned before.The subject comes from"2~18GHz universal receiver". Chengdu Sine Science and Technology Ltd. undertake the RF front end in this project. The auther is responsible for the 2~6GHz parts. The fine linearity of the receiver is achieved by two conversions of frequency in the front of the system. The low noise and high gain LNA have guaranteed the receiver's sensitivity, and two levels of AGC unit have met the receiver's dynamic range need.At first, the key technical indices of the receiver are introduced in this paper. Secondly design proposal is planned according to the system and the feasibility is justified. Then, the analysis in theory and the designing method of the key parts in the system, such as SPDT switch, LNA, AGC and filter, is carried out. Finally, the function of each part is tested.
