Gprs Mobile Communication Network Optimization

GPRS optimization is to gather parameters of the networks newly put in use and analyse the causes resulting bad quality so that adjustment of parameters and other technologies may be taken to make the networks run in its best status with highest profit and make suggestions for later maintenance and contruction plan. This paper at first roughly gave the principle of GPRS networks, and analysed its optimization in details. In the basis of GPRS network theories, it analysed the problems existed in current GPRS networks, explained the relationships between GPRS optimization and GSM optimization and put forward the optimization theories. And the implementation of GPRS optimization was explained including collection and analysis of system data, adjustment of wireless parameters, measurement and evaluation standard of network performance. At last, detailed optimizing methodology of Motorola GPRS networks was gaven including BTS optimization, microcellular systems optimization, basestation integration testing, system-level optimization, Qos algorithm and its implementation, and optimization testing data and its analysis was presented. The methodology is applied in the lab of Motorola Chengdu R&D Center that data bitrate and performance capacity of the network is improved successfully.
