Multiple input multiple output technique as a great breakthrough in wireless communication system can obtain high spectral efficiencies and MIMO-related topics also occupy a considerable part of today's academic communications research.Space-time codes is a technique to get the maximum diversity advantages in MIMO systems. Space-time codes uses spatial and temporal coding technology, and combines the technology of coding, modulation and diversity to fight mufti-path fade. It can improve the communication quality and increase the efficiency of the channel simultaneously. MIMO can improve the capacity and reliability of radio communication. However, the multiple RF chains associated with multiple antennas are costly in terms of size, power and hardware. Antenna selection is a low-cost low-complexity alternative to capture many of the advantages of MIMO systems. The main researches in this dissertation including:1. On the basis of international current research works, this thesis investigates some key theories and technologies for MIMO wireless communication systems.2. We introduce two kinds of Space-Time codes and analysis their performance.3. The criterion of maximum likelihood decoding is derived while the spatial transmit correlation exists. The pair-wise error probability is calculated by using moment-generating function and numerical integration. The effect of transmit correlation on performance of unitary space-time codes is focused in this thesis.4. We introduce the different arithmetic for antenna selection technology at present, and give the simulation results of arithmetic of this thesis.
