| In modern times, the mass media have formed a public discourse space, and deeply effect people in the gender socialization and gender relations. This paper which is divided into three parts, analysis the image of women from the feminist theory "gender" perspective of the mass media. The first part, through analysis the women image in the newspaper,magazine,movies,the internet and other media, we want to find out the neglect and disorder of the women image. The second part, retrospectives the causes of distorted image of women's in the media from social, political, economic, historical, cultural perspective. The East and West cultural history of gender inequality still has effect. Meanwhile with the rise of consumer culture and the media, the small number of female employees, and the low status also affect the women image in the media. Part three focuses on how to take the effective measures to improve the image in the media and achieve the healthy and harmonious development. Through the study of gender equality theory, let the media practitioners establish the gender awareness, build a pluralistic government and private media assessment mechanisms to promote gender equality. Through analysis of neglect and reappearance of women image in the mass media, this paper want to analysis the importance of raise awareness of media on gender issues, to enhance people about these phenomena, awareness of the relevant gender bias and critical abilities, and to break through the traditional gender stereotyping, to create a physical and psychological development of women's social and cultural environment. |
