Based on the needs of mission rehearsal for tactical aircraft, this paper proposes a method for threat space modeling which suits analysis of and expression of threat space. Based on threat space model presented by this method, threat space which satisfies the needs of mission rehearsal for tactical aircraft, like highly fine, multi-information expression and 3D display, is generated through analysis of threat space.Through providing pilots with the 3D image of area paid attention to and 2D graphics of important area, mission rehearsal for tactical aircraft makes pilots fully master lots of information in the environment of flight mission, so it improves the rate of mission success and of pilot's survivance. This paper focuses on providing information of threats which influence the flight safety, which could be accomplished by analysis of and expression of threat space. There are few researches about it currently, so proposing a method for threat space modeling which suits analysis of and expression of threat space will be important for theoretics and practice.To ensure the manifold information about the objects of analysis of threat space needed in the procedure of threat space modeling, this paper illuminates object model of analysis of threat space firstly: the objects of analysis of threat space is particularized; a proposed aircraft's model of dynamics and kinematics is researched to calculate aircraft's exact flight path, and an omnidirectional RCS model which uses the angle between aircraft and radar as a variable is proposed; a method for calculating and expressing the theoretic effect area of weapon system is proposed by researching the proposed expressions for calculating the capability of weapon system. Then this paper proposes threat space model of weapon system and threat space model of non weapon system. The threat space model of weapon system contains four factors: reaction time, present time, threat level and effect airspace. The threat space model of weapon system could be divided into two types: detection threat space model and destruction threat space model. The detection threat space model could also be divided into two types: simple threat space model and exact threat space model. When the effect airspace is counted, the simple threat space model makes some predigestion assumptions, but the exact threat space model considers more influences which come from the unceasing movement of object aircraft and detection weapon system, angle restriction of radar scanning, and terrain masking. The method to fix on factors in the destruction threat space model is similar to the method for the exact threat space model of detection threat, but it also has some particularities. The threat space model of non weapon system only contains three factors: present time, threat level and effect airspace. The threat space model of non weapon system could be divided into three types: weather threat space model, ground collision threat space model and air collision threat space model. Contrasting with the threat space model of weapon system, the method to fix on factors in the threat space model of non weapon system is simpler, and the factors could be directly obtained from the basic information of threat origin and the correlative aircraft's flight path. At last, it proposes a method to carry out the analysis of and expression of threat space which is based on the threat space model in a system of mission rehearsal for tactical aircraft.
