Key Technology Research, Based On The Credit System Of The University Teaching Data Warehousing And Decision Support System Design

Withdevelopment of the scale of higher education and actualizationof credit system, teaching administration has become more complex. Toadjust to the new teaching model and improve the efficiency of the teachingadministration, every university has started information construction ofteaching administration and set up the MIS of teaching administration.It has heightened the level of teaching administration to a great extent,lightened the burden of administrative staff, and has accumulated a largeamount of data. But the MIS can't offer the function to analyze the datawith profound level, it makes administrative staff be unable to receiveand understand the relevant information in time, and the leader can't getpractical data support while making decisions. The history data can'texert fully its value.Based on the actuality and needs of teaching administration, the staffand leader hope to set up the data center of teaching and decision supportsystem of teaching administration to provide the functions of analysisof data using information technology. They can gain the information easilyby using this system and the history data can exert fully its value;By OLAP and data mining to every kind of data, they can get some conclusionsand rules to help make decisions. These conclusions and rules can beapplied in the teaching administration to improve the level of run andmanagement of university, as well as the ability of making decision ofteaching administration.This thesis did research in the technology of data warehouse, OLAPand DSS, designed the logic model of data warehouse and the scheme ofthe DSS for teaching administration based on four tiers' architecture andstudied the key implement technology. After analyzing the existing MISof teaching administration and identifying the details of source data,designed the special ETL tool to perform extract and transfer of data with performance optimization, constructed the data warehouse of teachingadministration, set up the OLAP system of teaching administration usingthe OLAP tools. The system is the core of the DSS of teachingadministration, including analysis of the workload of teaching, student'sstatus analysis etc...Data warehouse of teaching administration stored integrated datafrom MIS of teaching administration base on the decision themes, andcomposed of the data center of teaching to provide data to DSS. DSS hasthe functions of easy data analysis and intuitionistic result presents.By the actual running and test, the data warehouse and DSS of educationadministration improve the ability to analyze the data, realized thescientific process with decision of teaching administration management.With the continual maintenance, function extension and performanceoptimization, the system will have a great effect on the DSS of teachingadministration.
