With the rapid development of computers, microchips, sensors and networks technology, domestic service robots are gradually entering people's daily lives. A robot which can be used to improve the safety and comfort of the residential environment is designed. The robot uses visual and audio systems to monitor the abnormal situations in the environment, and uses multi-sensors to collect the current weather conditions. This thesis introduces a system which is designed as the environmental monitor module of the domestic service robot.The thesis introduces a novel smart system which intelligently monitors the comfort level of the environment. The devices collect weather data through multi-sensors and communicate with each other through wireless module. In order to reflect the weather conditions interestingly, a fuzzy algorithm is chosen to map the collected signals onto music and color. The main contents in the thesis are as follows:1. According to the project's requirement, the technological difficult points have been analyzed still their realization, and a realization scheme is proposed. Meanwhile, a feasibility analysis is used and a systematic block diagram is provided.2. According to the system's specification, the function modules of the system are analyzed and implemented, including a data acquisition module, a data processing module, a wireless communication module and a display module. The design of the modules is divided into two parts: the hardware design and the software design. The hardware design includes chips selection, circuits design and PCB layout. The software design includes the drivers and the application programs of the microchips.3. A human comfort control model is obtained by using the fuzzy theory. According to the system's requirement, a wireless sensor network protocol is analyzed, and a new wireless communication protocol is proposed.4. After the installation of the hardware of the system, the debug of both the hardware and the software is used and the experimental results are analyzed.
