With the development of Geographic Information System applications,Geography has developed from the study of qualitative research to semi-quantitative and quantitative direction. The analytical study of geomorphologic surface destruction and deformation is one of the most basic and practical methods of the study of new tectonic movement.Taking the surface topography as the sign can be used to better analyze the regional tectonic deformation caused by the new tectonic movements The application of GIS spatial analysis functions, digital elevation model data to conduct slope, aspect calculation, elevation classification of landform analysis, in combination with remote sensing, field geology, geomorphology investigation and the determination of the surface topography, can be used to better study new tectonic movement. On one hand, the formation and evolution of river water are controlled by the water movement of its own, on the other hand, by the geological structure, which affect each other, and shape the river landscape. It can be said that the valley is often the weak belt of geological structure, which can be soft rock or the distribution belt of rocks, or the development zone of a fracture or joint. As a result of low resistance to water erosion, these areas are prone to rapid development into the valley. Therefore, the valley, sometimes straight, sometimes turning point, contains all the traces of geological structure. The application of data like DEM to conduct GIS hydrological analysis, extraction river network, watershed segmentation, analysis water system, the establishment of water density calculation model, water and water density distribution chart, and so on, can be used to better study the characteristics of modern tectonic movement. This paper first expounds the basic principles, content and applications of GIS, and then focus on the analysis of extraction principle of slope, aspect of landscape feature, and the contents of the new tectonic movements. On the basis of regional remote sensing and interpretation of field investigations conducted in Xianshuihe—Xiaojiang fault, in accordance with the digital elevation model, this paper analyzes the region's landscape features, tectonic deformation of research activities, and focuses on the discussion of the geometric distribution, L-L-slip sliding rate of activity, and other characteristics of the Daliangshan fault. On the other hand, the analysis of the relationship between the type of stream hydrology, water features and active tectonics, geological development, and the design and development of the stream density analysis algorithms are presented in this paper. Then, taking advantage of GIS hydrological model of the south boundary of North China block in the Ordos activities fault -- with the Weihe River region fault DEM data, this paper analyses the River Network of this region. Besides, on the basis of MFC, using Visual C + + development platform and C + + language development for water line density analysis software to carry out data stream processing provides fault basis and support for the research and analysis for the southern border Ordos block—the geological tectonic activities of Weihe fault. Finally, this paper analyses the region's main fracture characteristics of the activities.
