Based on the research and analysis of data acquisition, monitoring and alarm system and redundant topology, considering the actual situation of vessel and focusing the special of electrics & machineries operation in engine room, this article uses IPC and Data Acquisition Control Modules (DACM) as the core hardware to build the engine room monitoring and alarm system, which provides a safety sailing indemnification for the vessel.In the article, the software of the monitoring and alarm system is designed separate by configuration software and C++ Builder5. The material design method of configuration includes: l)The function design of each part of the software is given by analyzing the composition of the configuration software, data-processing methods, key technologies, and so on; 2)The development and design of engine room monitoring and alarming system software is completed by designing the real-time database of monitoring point, connecting the I/O channels, designing the sound and light alarming control program, designing the system interface and configuring redundant; 3)The advantages and disadvantages of configuration designing method is analyzed. The details of the software which is designed by C++ Builder5 includes database configuration, system initialization, data communication, monitoring, alarming treatment, Dual-system fault tolerance switching and data backup design, and so on. Finally, the article compares the two methods and summarizes each advantages and applicable occasions.The system of testing and the actual operation explains that the designed engine room monitoring and alarm system in the article can meet the application requirements.
