Digital watermark is an advanced technology in the international cryptogram research field. It protects the copyrights of digital productions by embedding some undiscovered infomation into the digital carrier. These steps have no effect on original works.But the information, which is unsensible to humankind sensor, provides a good solution to copyright protection and pirate copy tracing.In this paper, a new digital watermark algorithm based on digital image scrambling transformation is proposed. In this research we encrypt the watermark information by exerting image scrambling transformation.Chaos system choosed here can generate sequences which are random and sensitive to the initial values.The sequences will be adept at encryption. In addition, the error-correcting code technology is applied here to improve the error-tolerated ability of encrypted information. Discrete Cosine Transform is used to complete the process of watermark embedding or picking. At last, the proposition is simulated in Matlab and C++ environments. Simulated attacks by common means are designed on the carrier in experimental testing.And the ultimate evaluations are recorded.The results of the experiments indicate that the algorithm is robust and safe.The BCH encoder and decoder enhance the watermark's robusticity.This method can be implemented in practical watermark.
