The dynamic strain measurement system plays a key role in modern industry. The conventional dynamic strain measurement system has many disadvantages such as large outlines, inconvenient usage, liable to various interferences and so on, is limited its applications, as the boom of embedded technology, a new dynamic strain measurement system can be designed based on the modern embedded computer technology, network technology and strain measurement technology, which is the integration of signal conditioning, data acquiring and data issuing. It can overcome the shortcomings of traditional Strain Gauge.This thesis describes the system design and implementation for such a type ofembedded instrument based on ARM and DSP.ARM controls and exchanges data withDSP through a high speed interface. ARM also manages all the other peripherals such asnetwork interface, memory storage, communication with PC and so on. DSP force on dataacquisition and processing only.The entire system includes four parts: the data acquisition and processing system based on TMS320VC5416, the Embedded Processor based on S3C2410, the high-speed communication interface based on HPI and application software development. The details of these four parts are presented.Based on system debugging and experiments in the last part, it is proved that the system has basically achieved the requiremens put forward.
