ESL shorts for Electrical System Level, and is one kind of EDA method to design and testify the system. In this paper, the main parts of digital signal processing of automotive collision avoidance radar is designed based on ESL tool AccelDSP, research shows that it's more efficient to appropriately use ESL tools during radar digital signal processing design.In this paper, firstly the moving model of auto is set up, through calculating, the parameters of radar are gotten. Secondly, the signal processing theory of LFMCW is researched, and the accuracy limit of FFT on beat signal is analyzed, one novel algorism of improving the spectrum analysis accuracy is introduced. By using Simulink, the floating point model is testified, the results show that it works well. In the end, the key parts of LFMCW automotive collision avoidance radar was designed with ESL tool named AccelDSP which can convert the floating point model to RTL description, and testified on the XUP Virtex-II Pro developing board.
