Iptv In The Sms Business Realization

As a rising industry in telecom field, IPTV attracts more and more attention, it also marks the integration of Broadcast & Television industry and telecom industry. IPTV changes our cognition on traditional television, and brings totally new experiences. We can enjoy not only video programs, but also many interaction value-added services, with the advantage of the bearer network.With the development of IPTV, SMS also becomes a new value-added service on this platform. It makes people easy to receive and send short messages on television. Combined with traditional TV programs, it is convenient to realize TV votes and message broadcasting through IPTV SMS. As the service keeps developing, it involves not only text messages but more and more multimedia services, such as MMS, audio and video messages etc. The audience can interchange information with different terminals by IPTV SMS, and can also take part in the TV programs more actively.In this paper, we first introduce the topological structure of current SMS network in China Telecom and background of SIP. Then we analyze and research the implementation of IPTV message system and corresponding technology, that construct the base on which we realize the message interchange between IPTV users and other terminal users. Our implementation achieved the basic functions of sending and receiving short message on TV, and passed the inter-communication tests with current online short message gateways. The key problem of this system is the protocol conversion of SIP and SMPP, which makes message inter-communication between different network users possible.After the laboratory test, our system owns the ability to converse between SIP and SMPP protocol, fully functional qualified with short message transfer, short message storage, message response, user authentication, route judgment, etc.In the future, according to the performance requirements to commercial deployment, we will optimize the algorithm and architecture, and improve the functions of authentication, charging, etc.
