The rapid development of integrated circuit technology and the requirements of consumer electronics products,especially portable (mobile) electronic products,promote a system-on-chip integrated SoC(System on Chip) rapid development,but also raised many new issues. With the increase of chip scale and the reduction of process technology, designer can no longer consider only two aspects of chip optimization: speed(performance) and size(cost),but also pay attention to the third aspect-power.Power has become increasingly important.It is necessary to consider the low power technology in IC design.Thus,low-power design has become the critical factor in chip technology and commercial success.This paper descript the principle of low-power design and the back-end realization method in detail.Including gated clock,multi-voltage design, multi-threshold design and gated power technology.Give a detailed description on these design methodologies and realization.Using these low power design technology,meet the target in the design.This paper focus on the back-end circuit-level low power design methodology and implementation.
